Quirindi Silo Art, Light and Sound Show

Artist Peter Ryan transformed the giant canvas of the silos to tell the story of Quirindi, its past, present and future by day and by night! This stunning feature won Best Street Art Experience, Best Mega Mural and Best of the Best at the 2023 Australian Street Art Awards.
By day you can admire Yurrandaali, the tree goanna, Totem of the Liverpool Plains and protector of the land being the centre of the dreamtime story. The story continues through time with the arrival of white settlers, agriculture and the railway.
By night the art comes to life: Grey Bandaarr Kangaroo, the knowledge holder, conveys messages and warnings to Yiluwidi Bandaarr, the blue kangaroo, who is the fastest. They take messages and warnings about threats to the other animals.
The Light and Sound Show starts at 7.30pm and 8.30pm during Daylight Savings every night. It is preceded by a 30 minute count-down clock, goes for 20 minutes and repeats after a 5 minute interval.
Comfy lounges invite you to watch the daily show.
There is also a rain gauge in the form of poly-pipes indicating the annual rainfall since the silo was constructed and picnic tables for visitors.
